Help save homeless youth

I have been a part of Doors of Change for over 20 years now and have seen firsthand the incredible difference they are making in the lives of our homeless youth. I initially joined as a way of giving back to my community, while also being an example for my three children.

However, through my involvement, I have been exposed to the harsh realities faced by homeless young individuals—vulnerable, isolated, lacking in trust, having very limited support. Learning that many of these youths were forced into homelessness by rejection and abuse from their families shattered my heart.

Despite their hardships, witnessing the resilience and bravery of these youths striving to overcome adversity left an indelible mark on my soul. Their stories of courage and determination underscored the critical importance of our efforts to provide a lifeline to those with nowhere else to turn.

As Doors of Change developed its unique approach and programming, I felt renewed inspiration. Witnessing how fast and well we can build trusting relationships with the youth while giving them access to housing, mental health support, substance treatment, employment opportunities, and so much more has only deepened my connection with Doors of Change.
